Founding Engineer
Adesco is building a modern financial services platform for international payments, currency conversion, and real estate transactions in Israel. We help individuals, lawyers, and real estate professionals move large sums of money quickly, securely, and transparently.
We are a profitable, and fast growing company. Our technology is core to everything we do, and we are looking for a Founding Engineer to help shape the product, the platform, and the engineering culture from the ground up.
The Role
As our Founding Engineer, you will own large parts of the stack end to end. You will work directly with the founders to design, build, and ship features that real customers and partners use every day.
This is a hands-on role for a product-minded engineer who enjoys understanding the business context behind the code, and wants real ownership over what they build.
You will work across customer-facing applications, internal backoffice tools, and mission-critical financial systems, tackling challenges like crafting smooth UI experience and building robust background services to power Adesco's financial infrastructure.

- Frontend: Typescript, React, Next.JS 16, Tailwind CSS
- Backend & Data: Supabase (PostgreSQL) Python services for background processing and integrations

Responsibilities
- End-to-End Ownership: take features from data modeling to production deployment
- Architect & Build: Develop scalable web applications and reliable Python background services that manage complex financial workflows (wire transfers, currency conversions, settlements)
- Standards & Culture: Work closely with the founders to set engineering standards, code quality, and testing practices
- DevOps: Improve CI/CD, environment management, logging, and monitoring across development and production environments
- Bridge Product & Tech: Translate complex financial requirements into clean, maintainable technical solutions
Must Have
- 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally in startups or small teams
- Deep knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Next.js (including server components)
- Strong backend experience with PostgreSQL and schema design
- Experience with Python (or a similar backend language) for background services and data processing
- High autonomy: You can take a vague requirement and turn it into a working feature in production
- Experience with Supabase or similar BaaS platforms (nice to have)
- Background in Fintech, payments, or compliance-heavy domains (nice to have)
- Experience with Monorepos (Turborepo) and CI/CD pipelines (nice to have)
