Head of Payment Operations

Adesco is on a mission to make currency exchange and cross-border transfers fast, safe, and surprisingly personal. Every day, real people need their money to move efficiently, and to feel safe and in control. Closing on a home, paying a supplier, supporting family. We are looking for a Head of Payment Operations to run the daily operational team: approving transactions, resolving hiccups, supporting the team who support the clients, and making sure that when something goes wrong, the deal still succeeds.

What you will be doing

  • Approve or decline daily client transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance before funds move
  • Hold back when needed, while keeping transactions efficient and millions of dollars, shekels, and more moving
  • Handle compliance questions that come up on individual cases. You are the judgment call in the middle of the process, and you know when to escalate further
  • Own escalations from the customer service team, including problem cases. When a transfer hits a snag, you work it until it is resolved and the deal closes successfully
  • Keep the daily operational rhythm moving. Nothing sits waiting on your desk
  • Work closely with risk, compliance, and client-facing teams to resolve issues quickly and correctly
  • Flag patterns or recurring issues that point to a bigger process fix

What we are looking for

  • Experience in financial ops, compliance, or a client-facing role in fintech or banking
  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of Israeli AML and KYC/KYB regulation. This is a must, not a nice-to-have
  • Comfortable making fast, sound judgment calls under pressure, and unafraid to say "not yet" when something does not check out
  • A problem-solver's instinct. When a deal is at risk, you find the way through, not just the reason it is stuck
  • Calm under pressure, organized, and genuinely enjoys solving problems for people
  • Native-level communication in both English and Hebrew

This is a hands-on role at the center of how Adesco runs efficiently, day to day. You are trusted with real authority over real money. Moving fast when it is right, and holding the line when it is not.
